Classes at the Griffing Center
Classes are offered at the Griffing Center in 4-week sessions. Bring in your own project to work on or join others in the class for a group project.
Classes held every Monday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM (closed on National holidays).
Winter 2014 Session
4 - 2-hour classes: $8
The Griffing Center has an annual membership fee:
North Miami Residents: free
Non-residents : $20 for 12 months
The Griffing Center is located at
12220 Griffing Blvd (also called NE 3rd Avenue)
North Miami, FL
located 2 blocks south of NE 125th Street
Look for a bright Gold building across the avenue from Griffing Park
Students working on class projects will be provided with yarn.
For Personal projects, students use their own yarn.
Students must purchase crochet hooks for all projects.
December 2016 donations included Slippers, Lapghans, Hats, Scarves and Premmie Caps.
In December 2012, we donated 4 afghans and numerous children's caps to Lotus House and the NM Senior Foundation.
During the Fall 2010, students made over 25 caps for Preemie babies at Jackson Hospital near Downtown Miami, FL.
A colorful 5 by 5 square afghan was donated to Lotus House, a womens shelter near Downtown Miami, FL.
In January 2011, students made over 40 caps in a variety of sizes for children in Guatamala.
In December 2011, we donated 4 afghans to Lotus House woman's shelter and North Miami Seniors Agency. Check out the photos below.

For those wanting individualized attention, private classes can be arranged in your home or office.
Fees start at $30 for the first 2-hour class. Additional students only $5 more per hour!
